‘Tunnel Vision’ – Whistler Fine Art Photography. Stepping into this incredible underground world was definitely one of the highlights of my photographic career. These Glacier Ice Caves are some of Mother Natures most beautiful creations i’ve had the pleasure of witnessing! This particular cave or I should say tunnel was my favourite out of this vast complex. It was very difficult to showcase the scale of the tunnel, but I was actually quite large. For reference you could stand up on most of the upper rock areas you see on either side of the stream that leads to what almost looks like an eye at the end of the tunnel. The only way this will image will showcase the scale is through a massive print, which will allow you to see all of the finer details. I dont like to have human subjects in my scenes but knowing that you could stand on the rock on either side of the stream gives you a bit of a feel for the scale of the tunnel. These complexes of caves and tunnels are changing on a daily basis with this tunnel most likely a casualty of the rapid melting that is taking place at this Glacier and pretty much all Glaciers during the summer months. This melting is exponentially increasing year over year. I feel very fortunate to have witnessed and captured a piece this amazing beauty before it is gone!
