‘Liquid Lore II’ – Squamish Fine Art Photography. Having shot this scene in the summer, check out (LIQUID LORE) I immediately realized the potential for a winter scene, and I think its winter beauty far surpasses what it showcases in the summer months. Hiking in on the coldest day of the year I was in awe of the winter version of this scene, but as I examined it a little closer I realized it could be even better if the right conditions came together. During the first shoot the snow had been covered and disturbed with some debris from a recent wind storm and there was very little light entering the scene. The icing on the cake would be a bit of mist and fog! You start to realize how picky you get with your work over the years, and how so many elements need to come together to create that perfect scene. After a fresh snowfall I headed back to the falls and was greeted with a much cleaner scene as the fresh snow fall had covered more of the exposed rock as well as the fallen debris from the past wind storm. As I shot the scene I also started to get some wonderful soft light hitting the little waterfall on the left as well as the wall of the canyon that the main falls came through. This light also allowed the mist to now be illuminated and thus bringing my pre-visualized scene to fruition!
