‘Grizzly Glow’ – Grizzly Bear, Telegraph Cove BC. We followed this beautiful grizzly bear for probably more than an hour; from a safe distance of course, and just enjoyed watching her movements, and characteristics. At one point she fell over a log which was pretty funny, landing in the water. At the point of this capture she had just shook of the extra water on her coat and was now glistening in the sun, almost looking like she was glowing against the dark backdrop of the Old Growth Forest. Just prior to this she had swam across a little channel and actual came very close to our little skiff as our guide was in the water towing us through some reeds!! Our guide wasn’t phased at all, and had been around these bears for many years! This outing was deep into Knight Inlet, with this particular area being a smaller estuary at the back of a cove off of Knight Inlet. We has left from Telegraph Cove around 6am and the journey to and from this cove was spectacular, seeing Orcas, Humpback whales, Sea Lions, Black Bears and of course many Grizzly Bears! The image itself is a black and white conversion which I felt really suited the contrast of the scene with the glowing Grizzly against the dark background.
